- Women who have not been working should do the following things to get back to their career tracks. First, it's very important to have confidence in the skills that you have. If you are convinced your skill level is not good enough for the job that you are looking for, go back to school and upgrade your skills. It's very important to focus on alumni networks or associations. Second, they should make a very good resume and cover letter and either fax to the employer or email in to them. Third, they can also contact the employer over the phone or in person.
